What's Hoppin' this Week? 11/6

Happy November everyone! Lot's to get to this evening. My latest 509 Beer column is up on the Spokesman today. It's a bit of a grab bag with lots of info, so check it out here - 509 Beer: Lone Mountain Farms, Hidden Mother Brewery are open for business.

Due to space constraints, I wasn't able to get my usual What's Hoppin' event calendar in it, so I've put it together below. Cheers! 🍻🍻🍻

Thursday, November 7

Pints Alehouse in North Spokane is kicking off their "Out of the Cellar" series featuring aged beers from Oregon's Deschutes Brewing. They will have several special beer available starting at 3 p.m. The event goes til Sunday. (

Friday, November 8

After being soft opened for a couple weeks, The Hidden Mother Brewery is hosting the grand opening of their new taproom on Friday and Saturday. Stop in from 1 to 10 p.m. on Friday or 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Saturday to check out the new space and sample some great beer. (

On the second Friday of every month, River City Brewing will be teaming up with SpokAnimal to raise money and find forever homes for our furry friends. From 5 to 8 p.m. they will be donating a portion of all beer sales to SpokAnimal and there will be a fundraiser raffle. (

Starting at 6 p.m. Whistle Punk Brewing will be raising money for the 90+ Project, an organization which mentors under-resourced children in the community through soccer. One dollar of every pint purchased will be donated and reps will be on hand to talk more about their great organization. (

Humble Abode Brewing is releasing the newest version of their popular Lupuliner NEIPA. They will have a food truck on hand to keep people fed from 5 to 8 p.m. (

Saturday November 9

Idaho Brewers United, Idaho's craft brewers guild, is hosting the first annual North Idaho Beer Fest at the Kootenai County Fairgrounds from noon to 6 p.m. Breweries from all over Idaho will be on hand to celebrate Idaho Brewing. Tickets are $25 in advance and include a commemorative tasting glass at 8 sample tokens. Tickets and more info at

Quartzite Brewing in Chewelah is celebrating their 4 year "brew-versary" with a special flight of four new saisons they have brewed for the occasion. Noon to 8:30 p.m. (

Hop Mountain Taproom is celebrating one year serving great craft beer in Mead with a party kicking off at 4 p.m. There will be beer specials, live music, raffles and swag giveaways. (

Bellwether Brewing is continuing their weekly releases of their fall and winter beers with The Gleaner, a Flanders brown ale, and a plum ale. This will also be a fundraiser for the Spokane Edible Tree Project, who will also be on hand taking donations for fresh apple cider from 3 to 6 p.m. (

Steady Flow Growler House in the Spokane Valley is bringing in the recently renamed Natural 20 Brewing for a tap takeover from 3 to 6 p.m. The owners will be on hand to talk beer and raffle off swag. (

Sunday, November 10

If you've ever wanted to learn more about homebrewing, Community Pint will give you the opportunity when they host the Inland Brewers Unite Homebrew Club for a "Homebrewing 101" class from noon to 12:30. The class will taught by a professional brewer and attendees will see the step-by-step process and learn more about the science of brewing. Tickets are $20 and include one drink of your choice from the Community Pint menu. (

Monday, November 11

Iron Goat Brewing is giving $1 off pints all day to members of the military and first responders. (
