What's Hoppin' this Week? 11/14

It's time for another edition of What's Hoppin' this Week. The cold weather has settled in and the disturbingly early sunsets are are going to be the norm for quite a while around here (I'm not a winter person, if you can't tell.) At least we've got plenty of strong, dark and heavy beers to drink from so many great breweries and friends with which to share them. On to the events. Cheers everyone!

Thursday, November 15th

- English Setter Brewing is spicing up their usual Thursday night trivia and inviting fellow Spokane Valley brewery, Genus, along for the ride. Genus will have two special guest taps and they'll be playing special Harry Potter Themed trivia. Event starts at 5 and trivia starts at 6:30. Facebook.

- Every third Thursday of the month, the Northwest Museum of Arts and Culture in Browne's Addition holds an evening event from 5 to 8 pm with live music, gallery walks, and no-host beer, wine and food available. This all-ages event is only $5 to get in for non-members (50% off the regular admission price) and members get in free. Granted, this is only tangentially beer-related, it's a bit of a slow week and the MAC is awesome, so check it out. Facebook.

Friday, November 16th

- The Lantern Tap House is hosting their annual Flannel Fest starting at 4 and running through Saturday (regular hours.) Fremont is sponsoring and bringing their 2015-2018 editions of their bourbon barrel-aged Dark Star and a few other special beers. - Post Falls Brewing is holding another Pie and Pints night featuring beer pairing with mini-pies from Bean and Pie. Get your Thanksgiving week started off on the right foot. Facebook.

Saturday, November 17th

- Apparently Saturday is National Take a Hike Day - seems like it would be better in the Spring, but I'm not in charge of these things - anyway, to celebrate Badass Backyard Brewing is holding an informal hiking party. Attendees should meet by 10 am at the brewery at which point the group well head over to the Dishman Hills area and head out for a hike. Afterward, the group will meet back up at the brewery for some beers and, I imagine, a shared sense of accomplishment. Facebook.

- The CD'A Growler Guys location is turning 3 and celebrating by pouring more that 10 limited release beers from Northern California's Heretic Brewing from 2 to 5 pm. Heretic's local rep will be on site and the first 30 people through the door will receive a commemorative glass. A preview of the tap list is available on Facebook.

Wednesday, November 21st

Community Pint is holding their annual Friendsgiving Celebration from 5 to 8 pm. $28 gets you a 5 course tasting menu with each course paired with a 6 oz beer. I went last year and I've already got my tickets for this year. Space is limited, so purchasing in advance is highly suggested. Full menu and details are on Facebook.
